
Ross MacLean
Ross MacLean brings over two decades of global coaching and development experience to P3, with a background that spans grassroots to professional hockey across multiple countries. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ross has worked extensively with the IIHF, Hockey Canada, and various international federations, along with national and provincial programs at the U14, U16, U17, and U18 levels.
His experience includes serving as Head Coach of the Bosnia National Teams (U18, U20, and Men's Senior), as well as working as a high-performance coach mentor and certification facilitator with Hockey Alberta. Ross has also spent over 15 years as a professional skills coach, working with elite athletes including NHL players, national team athletes, and organizations such as the Calgary Flames, NHLPA, PWHPA, and the Canadian Women's National Team.
Ross holds advanced education in sport, hockey business, and human performance, and is a graduate of the IIHF Coaching Program in Vierumaki, Finland. As a player, he represented Team Canada as captain at the 2014 IIHF Pan-American Championship, winning a gold medal.
Ross's coaching philosophy is built on high-performance standards, detailed skill development, and a deep understanding of the game. He focuses on developing complete athletes through structure, accountability, and consistent execution.
As Head Coach of the 15U AAA Bigfoot team for the 2026/27 season, Ross operates within the Competition phase of the P3 Pathway, preparing athletes for high-level performance and long-term advancement.
